Antidote to the major irrational ways of thingking: ACCEPTANCE
Unconditional self-acceptance
- Accept the fact that you are a fallible person who has both good and bad points like everyone else.
- There's no reason why you shouldn't have flaws of some sort.
- You are no less worthy and no more worthy than anybody else despite your good and bad points.
Unconditional other-acceptance
- Accept that other people will inevitably treat you unfairly on occasions.
- There is no reason why they must treat you with fairness.
- The people that do treat you unfairly are no more worthy or no less worthy than other people.
Unconditional life-acceptance
- Accept that life doesn't unfold the way you'd always like it to.
- There's no reason why life should turn out the way you want it to.
- Life may not be what you regard as pleasant but it is not awful and in most instances it is certainly bearable.
